My Mirror psychologist contractors are required to be competent at independently assessing and managing client risk at a level that is expected of a Psychologist with Full General Registration in order to protect the community, My Mirror clients and psychologists themselves.
The following requirements/steps are taken by My Mirror in order to support psychologist contractors, clients and the community:
My Mirror psychologist contractors are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and have met their requirements for registration including study and training pathways (https://psychology.org.au/training-and-careers/careers-and-studying-psychology/studying-psychology/study-pathways).
All My Mirror psychologist contractors undergo a comprehensive recruitment process which involves: registration check with AHPRA, resume review, interview with My Mirror staff (at least one from management), and reference checks to ensure they possess the necessary clinical skills and competencies to working independently with clients and manage clients at risk to a standard that would be expected in a remote contracting role.
During onboarding and before commencing on the platform all psychologist contractors are provided with a training video: Responding to Suicidality Online which was developed by Dr Lyn O’Grady specifically for My Mirror.
All psychologist contractors have access to the Psychologist Hub resources which include:
-
Managing Risk Chart: identifying available client information, tools and required steps (assessment, management and reporting)
All psychologist contractors have access to peer support within the My Mirror psychologist community and with the My Mirror Clinical Team.
My Mirror provides ongoing and up to date support and information to psychologists as it relates to changes to the platform (including but not limited to client information gathering and platform functionality and processes).
